Yacht Inspired Range Rover Concepts

Edmiston has commissioned seven avant-garde marine designers to come up with a nautical-themed take on Land Rover's classic Range Rover reports Luxist. Above design by Dickie Bannenberg, features wooden side panels and a tailgate, complete with champagne holders. The winner of the design competition will be announced on Sept. 25th during the Monaco Yacht Show.

Lord Norman Foster's YachtPlus Soon

British architect Lord Norman Foster and YachtPlus will launch their avant-garde super-yacht in September. The high-tech 132-ft. Foster-designed "Signature Series" craft is the first in YachtPlus' fleet, each of which will have eight owners at a share price of about $2 million each. Construction on the flagship steel-jacketed vessel is in its final phase.

Cavalli Club

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has announced plans for the Roberto Cavalli's first Cavalli Club at the Fairmont Dubai. The Cavalli Club is new 'entertainment and night-life' concept. In Dubai, Cavalli is planning a two-story club with a separate entrance from the Fairmont Dubai. The floors will be done in shiny black quartz with reflective crystal dust and tall walls of Swarovski crystals create sparkling curtains.

Canon PowerShot Elph Camera

Canon has announced the diamond-encrusted Canon Elph. A new TV spot for Canon PowerShot, featuring tennis star Maria Sharapova and her dog Dolce, shows fans with Elph cameras approaching the player and asking to take a picture. Priced at $12,000, the camera comes with 88 white diamonds weighing 2.22 carats.

Freewheeler

Created in collaboration with designer Ron Arad, Freewheeler is a cordless stereo speaker wheel that can be rolled around, indoors or outside. Made of high-quality lacquered wood, it has the unique quality of generating a high quality stereo sound from one component instead of the usual two separate elements. With its own built-in receiver and amplifier, all you need is a CD player, your favorite music and away you roll! The sound signal is conveyed directly from the CD player to the speaker by a two-way FM transmitter. A receiver inside the wheel picks up the signal, filters and divides it into two stereo channels and then sends the two signals to a battery-run internal amplifier. The signals are then sent in opposite directions to two multi-directional coaxial speakers. This produces two separate sets of sound waves which in turn create the stereo effect. Available in NAC Orange or Cool White, it can also be made to order in any colour.

1937 Bugatti Breaks Auction Record

According to a report in The Wall Street Journal a 1937 Bugatti Type 37SC Atalante Coupe fetched a record value ($7.92 million) at the Gooding & Co’s annual Pebble Beach auction in California. Overall, the auction raked in $64.2 million

Tiger Woods - World's First Billionaire Athlete

According to Forbes, Tiger Woods is set to become the world's first billionaire athlete. In 2007, Woods earned $115 million, $65 million more than the second highest paid athlete, David Beckham.

Nokia has announced the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte. The Carbon Arte, has panels of carbon fiber in its front and rear faces, along with titanium, stainless steel, and polished glass. The new model is priced at EUR1100 ($1600).

Hermes Jypsière Bag

Hermes has launched the Jypsière designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for fall. The bag is fashioned after a hunting satchel in which Gaultier describes as "a functional, nonchalant bag slung across the shoulder, combined with the iconic details of the Hermes bags". There is a waiting list for the bag.

The Jypsière in leather 34cm retails at $6,800 in Hermes boutiques , the version here goes $11,365.

Bose SoundDock Series II

Bose has announced Series II , their first iPhone-certified product. It supports both the original iPhone and iPhone 3G, in addition to other MP3 and CD players. The system also charges the iPod/iPhone while docking them. The included infrared remote control helps you to navigate the playlist.

Bose SoundDock Series II will be available in early September in gloss black only, priced at $299.

Karl Lagerfeld has his own teddy bear. “Bears are very nice, as long as you are nice to them,” mused Lagerfeld.

Steiff, is producing the limited-edition Karl bear, 2,500 of which will be launched in Neiman Marcus in September, for $1,500. Each boasts a signature Steiff gold button in the ear and five pivoting joints—an innovation Steiff unveiled at the 1903 Leipzig Toy Fair.

Rolls Royce Hyperion

The Italian automotive design house, Pinninfarina has unveiled a custom-bodied car based on the chassis and mechanicals of the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. The car dubbed the Hyperion features a 6.75-liter V12 engine - 453 horsepower and 531lb-ft of torque.

The car draws on styling cues from pre-war era cars.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport features a removable polycarbonate roof and a folding roof stored in the luggage compartment for use when the main roof is not available. The Grand Sport is powered by a 16.4 liter engine expelling one thousand and one horsepower but features a modified chassis in order to compensate for the loss of the fixed roof and maintain rigidity. Only two hundred and fifty Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport’s will be made.
