Christie's to offer Lucian Freud portrait of Francis Bacon


Christie's will offer one of the two Lucian Freud portraits of Francis Bacon in its Post-War and Contemporary Art auction in London this October. The piece is estimated to reach bids of up to £7 million.

Francis Bacon's Vulture Painting


Francis Bacon's painting depicting a man attacked by vultures may fetch a $70 million when it is auctioned in New York in May, Sotheby's said.

Francis Bacon’s Triptych 1974-77




Francis Bacon's ‘Triptych 1974-77’ three-part painting is expected to sell for 25 million pounds ($50 million) in London at Christie’s. The painting is one of a series of works Bacon painted after the suicide of his lover George Dyer in 1971. The Triptych 1974-77 will be part of Christie’s contemporary art sale on Feb. 6.
