Burj Al Arab in Dubai vs Clyde Quay, in Plymouth

The world's only 'seven-star' hotel, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, has launched a legal battle to stop Millbay's lead developers, the English Cities Fund. They claim concept designs for Millbay's iconic new tower resemble their sail-shaped Dubai landmark.

The English Cities Fund and its architects RTKL are working on detailed plans for Clyde Quay, which will be at the heart of Millbay and will offer the opportunity for Plymouth's own top-quality hotel housed in an iconic 18-storey tower.
