Made in New York - for The Mercer

André Balazs' Mercer Hotel in NYC, known for its A-list clientele, has commissioned Jean Yu to create an exclusive custom robe for its guests. From her small boutique in Soho, Jean Yu has been dressing the likes of Sofia Coppola, Hillary Swank and Gwen Stefani with her silky lingerie and dress collections. Her made to measure and limited-edition pieces have appeared on multiple covers of Vogue and made her a CFDA finalist. Jean Yu has created a simple and elegant smoky lavender robe inspired by the classic smoking jacket and reflecting her architectural approach to design. The robe is made of double-faced silk charmeuse, made in New York City and costs $395. A limited number are also available online along with other items from Mercer Hotel such as their cashmere throw in Mercer's signature lavender color.
