Hermes $150,000 peacoat

For Fall 2008. 2009, Hermes offers this $150,000 peacoat made entirely of crocodile skin. Veronique Nichanian, the Hermes’ menswwear designer for the last 20 years says, “the most timeless article of clothing a man can have is a leather piece.” Only one is available at the Madison Avenue Hermes’ flagship store in navy. Hermes’ will do a worldwide search of the crocodile skin peacoat with a delivery time of 3-4 weeks. A customized version of the coat is also available in any color with the option to have a hood addition. This would take a 6 - 12 months delivery time.

Hermes Jypsière Bag

Hermes has launched the Jypsière designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for fall. The bag is fashioned after a hunting satchel in which Gaultier describes as "a functional, nonchalant bag slung across the shoulder, combined with the iconic details of the Hermes bags". There is a waiting list for the bag.

The Jypsière in leather 34cm retails at $6,800 in Hermes boutiques , the version here goes $11,365.

Hermès cigar cutter

Hermès's cigar cutter comes with a leather case in which to store it. The cutter is made out of stainless steel - resistant to corrosion from the oils in cigars. The cover is made from natural Barenia leather.

Hermes Helicopter

Eurocopter and Hermes have partnered for a special version of the Eurocopter EC 135 helicopter named l'Helicoptere par Hermès. The EC135 is twin engined multimission helicopter designed for civil use, it has a spacious cabin which can accommodate up to five passengers plus a pilot as well as several pieces of luggage. The interior was designed by Hermes features Hermes calf leather seats and leather trimmed controls, the cabin is enclosed in Hermes canvas and comes with binoculars.

Boris Berezovsky and Roman Abramovich's Hermes showdown

British tabloid the Daily Mail is reporting that shoppers enjoying London's exclusive Sloane Street were treated to a bizarre sight last weekend when archrivals Boris Berezovsky and Roman Abramovich staged a very public showdown inside the luxury-goods boutique.

According to the Mail, Berezovsky, 61, was shopping in the designer shop Dolce & Gabbana when he spotted Abramovich, 41, in the Hermes store, two doors away.

The Russian tycoon then ordered one of his bodyguards to bring him a $10 billion legal writ for Abramovich from his limousine parked near the store. As Berezovsky headed into the Hermes shop, legal documents in hand, reports say that Abramovich's bodyguards tried to block him from entering the shop.

As both men's bodyguards scuffled with each other, the 61-year-old tycoon barged his way past them and confronted his former protégé and one-time partner.

According to an unidentified onlooker quoted in the Mail, Berezovsky told the owner of London's famous Chelsea soccer club, "I've got a present for you. This is for you, from me."

Abramovich's reported response was to pull his hands away, letting the legal documents fall straight to the floor.
