Fisker Karma


Fisker Automotive helmed by Henrik Fisker, former designer at BMW AG and Aston Martin - is taking pre-orders for their Karma hybrid with delivery. The Karma made its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Mich. The fledgling firm has sold out its Signature Edition and is taking preorders for a plug-in four-door sedan for delivery in 2010.

Fisker uses plug-in hybrid technology called Q Drive. It consists of a small gasoline engine that turns the generator, which charges the lithium-ion battery pack, powering the electric motor and turning the rear wheels.

The Karma has top speed of 125 mph and zero-to-60-mph acceleration in 6.5 seconds, and is equipped with two driving modes -- Stealth Drive and Sports Drive.

Spada Codatroncadue


The Spada Codatroncadue is set to go into production. Twenty units of this car will be available for retail. Spada Codatroncadue produces 600 horsepower and can be later upgraded to 700hp . Climbs from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. £200,000 (~$395,000).

Bugatti plans open-air Veyrons


Bugatti is planning a production run of open-air Veyrons. According to AutoExpress, the targa Veyron will use a 6.0L W16 and starts at about £900,000. The targa Veyron is expected to come with a top speed of 217 mph.

Project Lydia




Bugatti Veyron is developing a $3m Veyron track car. German website Motor Auto und Sport has posted a series of drawings, which could be the rumored model touted to be more track-focused but still road legal. It will get its power from the Veyron’s 8-liter quad-turbo W16 engine thet produces 1,175 hp.

The new supercar is said to be being developed under the codename ‘Project Lydia’ after Ettore Bugatti’s wife. It would exceed 400 km/h and get a Nurburgring lap time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

Fisker four-door premium ‘Eco-Chic’, plug-in hybrid sports sedan


Henrik Fisker has designed an Eco-Chic plug-in hybrid sedan offered with gas or diesel engines and offers as many as 620 miles between refuelings.

The car comes with an in-built battery pack at the center that delivers an improved driving dynamics, good balance, safety, and striking shape. Price $80,000

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid


Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne SUV hybrid prototype featuring a full-hybrid design (clutch and electric motor positioned between the engine and the transmission). The Cayenne hybrid combines Porsche’s 3.6-liter direct fuel injection gas engine with an electric motor and 38 kW, 288 volt nickel metal hydride battery pack reports hybridcars.com.

BMW X6

BMW's X6 coupe-crossover, is a gorgeous "Sport Activity Coupe." BMW will be the first automaker to bring such an SUV to market.

The X6 is expected to arrive in dealerships in early 2008.

BMW design chief Chris Bangle said "a good concept realizes itself in a short amount of time." The X6, no doubt, falls under this category in BMW's mind.


Exterior designer Pierre Leclercq says the X6 is "a real sports car," true to BMW's tradition. "There's nothing like this on the market right now."

Rolls-Royce Coupe


Just one day after BMW boss Norbert Reithofer confirmed the Rolls-Royce coupe, a prototype has been spotted. The car shares a similarity to the 101EX concept car. Rolls-Royce's 101EX will be launched in 2008, with production scheduled to start next summer at its Goodwood plant.
